Women's Conference 2012

I just got home from another fabulous, spiritual FEAST called Women's Conference.
This two day conference is held at my Alma mater, Brigham Young University every spring.
There are over 100 classes to choose from with all sorts of topics including what we can learn from parenting, studying your scriptures, prayer, being patient with yourself, laugh more and cry less :), strengthening a spouse, keeping in touch as an out of state grandparent, simplifying, ...the list goes on.  Plus there is an fabulous concert held the first evening.  Let's just say, Hillary Weeks and I...we're practically best friends now!!  Ha!Ha!
If you have ever thought about going, just do it!  You'll be so glad.  It's a wonderful escape from normal life and a great way to have your spiritual batteries recharged!
Here are a few women from Rocklin and Lincoln that I was with, Lanea, Danee, and Anita.
Plus I am super lucky to stay with and spend time with my Grandma, Mom, and Sister!
After yummy food (my grandma is famous for her eggs and now a new favorite recipe, a sausage and kale soup), LOTS of tears (happy ones) and laughter, late nights discussing topics and sharing insights, we were up early Saturday morning to go cheer for my youngest brother David.
It was his first race, a 5K at the beautiful Thanksgiving Point.  Let me just say, he is darling (and I am totally unbiased!) and really, really fast!!  I am sure after watching this race that he and I don't share the same "running" genes.  He got first place in his age group and fifth overall, averages 6.1 minutes per mile!!  We made all sorts of signs to cheer him on, but I'm sure at that speed the writing was just a blur as he ran by!
Here we are after he finished.
It was a great weekend and I am so grateful I got to spend it with my family and a few friends!
