The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

Last night was a night to remember!!  My cousin, Rebecca is currently playing the role of "Grandma Who" in the National Broadway Tour of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.  We were so lucky that part of her tour included San Fransisco!  She came and spent a few days with us, eating homemade food (a treat when you are a on a six week tour), playing with the kids, and non-stop chatting with me.  We loved having her here to visit!  Wednesday night she scored Aubrey and I some sweet tickets on the eighth row of opening night!  What a treat!  Not only that, we got to check out back stage, meets several cast members, and watch Becky get in her make-up, costume, and hair!  It was so fun!
We started off checking out ALL the props and details back-stage...wow, what a production!
Becky and Aubrey with the sleigh!
Next we headed to the dressing rooms.  Grandma- Who's costume must have weighted 20 pounds!
And Aubrey loved her cute, pointed toe shoes!!

Becky showed Aubrey all the steps to becoming "Grandma- Who".  There is some serious skill (and serious MAC professional line make-up) into making those wrinkles look so fabulous on stage.
After that she was ready for her costume.
And a little fun with her dressing room roommate and tour roommate.
Then Aubrey got to meet more cast members, in their darling (6 year old, originals from Broadway) costumes.  They were so cute and kind with Aubrey!
The twins really wanted Aubrey to meet the "Who" with the crazy hair, she was super cute!!
Then we headed down a few flights of stairs to meet the "wig- master" and get Grandma's wig on.
We hurried for a few more photos.
Then the "5 minute call" came over the back stage speakers.
Then we were escorted to our (awesome) seats.  So now I think I finally get why people pay the "big bucks" to sit SO close.  It was so amazing seeing the actors and actresses facial expressions and feeling so much a part of the story.  We loved it!  The entire cast really did a fantastic job, of course we LOVED Grandma- Who, but we are a little biased!!
Here's a few I snuck without getting kicked out my camera flash going off.
The Grinch has always been a story I've enjoyed.  Watching the Grinch's heart change as Cindy Lou loves on him is so touching.  This show was fun, energetic, and so perfect to see this holiday season.
Such a talented, generous cast too!
Afterwards, we waited for Becky to give her (chocolate, of course) our congrats and hugs!  It was such a fun night.  I think I smiled for four hours straight!!!
What an amazing night, so glad I could share it with Becky and Aubrey!

  1. Oh, my goodness! How fun was that?! Now I understand why Aubrey has such a liking to acting. I think Aubrey needs to get some shoes like those she was modeling for us and set a new trend in shoes. They looked fabulous on her! What a fun, memorable night. And who knows, maybe some day Aubrey will be Grandma Who. Love to all!
