Summer Solstice

The first day of summer...YES another excuse to play hard!
We had started a new tradition last year of a big summer solstice bash, but with Tyler out of town this year, we didn't do it.  This year it was one of the hottest days of the year thus far, but we had big plans!!  We started our day off with a bike ride to explore a tree house I had recently found.
On our way Katelyn fell on her scooter and scraped her knee.
Thank goodness we had Aunt Kristin with us to go home get some band-aids.
While we waited, Andrew found it cool that bark can write on the sidewalk.
One thing I love about living in CA is the protected wetland, open areas.
Out in one of these fields we explored a fun tree house.
We took some books and snacks and the kids LOVED it!
That afternoon we pulled out the new slip and slide and homemade popsicles.
It was the perfect way to spend a HOT afternoon!
We finished the day with taco salad on the patio and ice cream!
Bring on SUMMER!!!

  2. Another fun day full of adventures! I always thought it would be cool to have a tree house. How fun that you had spied this on one of your many outings and took your kids to see and climb it. Can't wait for your trees to get bigger! Love to all!
