May's weekends

One Friday the girls were thrilled to dress up for Hawaiian Day at school, even showing me their best luau moves before they left!  Don't they look great?

We had our Rocklin Wave swim team time trials and first swim meet.  We really enjoy these meets because although it's a LONG day, we spend it together cheering Aubrey and Andrew on!
We camp out with the pop up tent, blankets, chairs, and plenty of snacks.
It's a fun time together without the normal distractions.
Andrew is either with his friends or found flying through his books reading.
The best part of swim team is the focus on doing your personal best.  I think this photo is my favorite from the day because this is Andrew and the head coach.  He came over and found Andrew after his race to congratulate him on his time.  Both Aubrey and Andrew got personal best times in their races!  It is awesome to watch them getting better and better!
I love this photo too of Aubrey doing her back-stroke with beautiful ballet hands!
Last, but not least Tyler and Andrew enjoyed the ever anticipated ward Father-Son Camp out.
Of course, there are smores, but I sent him with our favorite "around the campfire" treat.  This is a yummy recipe we got from my friend, Danee's Mom, Alisa.
Take a plain cake donut, cut it in half and add softened butter and brown sugar.  Then place a pineapple ring in between the two halves. Wrap the entire treat in foil and place in the hot embers (outer edge of fire) and wait until all melted and warm.  These are so yummy!!
Tyler and Andrew were lucky to be able to sleep in our friend, Bob's trailer for the night as they had to leave at 6 a.m. for a swim meet.  They had a great time!

  1. Of course they have a Hawiian day at school. And what fun to be able to wear a themed outfit to school. Way to go on your swim meets Aubrey and Andrew. I know you must have done awesome! It sounds like Tyler & Andrew's camp out was a big hit. Love to all!
