It was a perfect Memorial Day.
Tyler had a short work meeting with India (not their day off) and I took a five mile run.
I came home to delicious blueberry waffles, made from scratch (I so appreciate my husband)!
Then we enjoyed a beautiful hike up Codfish Falls trail.
I love this picture of Tyler patiently helping our slowest and smallest hiker. Matthew has his "cheese" face on and was such a trooper, trying to keep up with the big kids, not fall in the river, or touch the poison oak.

It was a great day for a hike with a nice breeze, but plenty of sunshine.
And I always love a hike with a waterfall at the end...it keeps the kids motivated!
We found our friends, Devin and Ashley Christensen had the same great idea for
the day so it was fun to spend time with them.
After our picnic lunch, Andrew was THRILLED to find a frog! And even more THRILLED when I said he could take it home!
He was quickly named "Squirmy". When we got home Andrew and Tyler went to the local pet store where they were told the proper "frog food" was LIVE crickets. (DO YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT PETS/ANIMALS IN GENERAL?!?!) So yes, we now have a frog AND crickets (which have to also be fed a potato, who knew?) living here. I am afraid that Squirmy did not eat any of the crickets and (although Andrew is fervently praying forthe frog's life to be spared before his mother takes him to some nearby pond an appetite of crickets to increase so he can live a long life...) I am not sure how long he will survive in our suburbia habitat.

There were MANY interesting, beautiful flowers.
I took these four to the top of the waterfalls.
I wouldn't let them get too close to the slippery rocks though.
Way to go Andrew! Take good care of that frog. What a fun and beautiful day. Boy what we would give for nice warm weather and be able to go outdoors without jackets! So now what is on your agenda for the rest of the summer? Love to all!
