Dinner Club at Cardiac Hill

We've got great friends.  They are always ready for a good time!  I was in charge of this month's "dinner club" and just to change it up a little I thought that instead of doing a sit-down meal at our home, we'd enjoy a hike and picnic dinner instead.  Everyone was on board for the adventure and what a great time we had.
I found a nearby hike in beautiful Auburn which led down to the American River (can you see it way down there?).  The distance was perfect, 2.74 miles and the challenge was one we were up for.  If the name wasn't enough to give it away, even the Forest sign listed it as *STEEP*.
Our hearts were pumping, but it was worth it.  We enjoyed our dinner next to two beautiful deer that hung around the entire time only 100 feet away.  Afterward, we stopped for ice cream and brownie sundaes and met up with our friends the Davis' (who couldn't make it earlier), it was a perfect night!!
