Giving thanks

The week of Thanksgiving was a mix of some nice down time, some project time and throw up.  Really.  Every 36 hours someone new would start throwing up.  I was especially worried since baby Burke was coming, but luckily no one but my family got it. 

Bonnie and Kerry came on Monday and helped join in the project to paint Katelyn and Megan's room.  We have lived here for three years and it's time for them to get new, more "grown-up" bedding.  I've loved the pink (they have had since they were three) and am a little saddened as it means we are leaving that stage of life.  But I am excited for their new room too!

These cute girls wanted to be RIGHT in the middle of it all.  Helping of course:)

The girls also spent a lot of time making "apple roses" with Grandpa Kerry.

 

We took a nice trip to the temple with Aubrey and Andrew one morning.

They love to cook and doing it with Grandpa is always extra fun!  As soon as he arrived they asked him what they were going to make together.  I love that the three of them enjoy this together:)

Getting the apples perfectly placed was important and made them so beautiful.

Not only pretty to look at, but delicious too!

The night before Thanksgiving we went down to Old Sacramento for their annual tree lighting and theater of lights.  It was cold, but we always have a great time.  This year we decided to include a little service and made a blanket to give to someone in need.  It took us a little while, but we found someone who was SO appreciative and thankful for the new blanket.

Thanksgiving morning always included the "turkey bowl".  These boys had a great time!

After they got back from football they joined right in helping.

This is my friend Mara and her sweet baby, Sadie.  Mara broke her tailbone falling down the stairs last week and so she and her cute family spent the day with us.  She was on the couch most of the day, but the kids never stopped playing.  It was wonderful having them here!

It was a delicious Thanksgiving feast!

Everyone enjoys a back-rub from Aubrey, it seems maybe she inherited Aunt Kristin's magical hands.

There were a lot of games going on outside, including some serious ping-pong.

These three girls are the best of friends and pretty excited about all the pies for dessert!

I love having Jordan around.  She is happy and helpful and so wonderful!  She stayed for a week all together since David had a business trip.  We loved having she and Burke here.  It worked great because they just took the train home.
Bonnie recovered Aubrey's chair in her room in this beautiful, mustard yellow leather!
It turned out amazing and we are so grateful for ALL her talents.

The kids had a fun time raking the leaves while Tyler and David put up the Christmas lights.

 And we devoured David's delicious chocolate chip cookies.  It was a huge batch, but we managed!

We have much to be thankful for and it was a wonderful week!
