Donuts with Dads

In early January, Matthew found out that we would be in Hawaii when his school class celebrated 100 days of school with a pizza party.  He asked me if we could change the dates for when we would be in Kauai.  When he heard about "Donuts with Dads" he was in a panic that he would miss it.  In fact, the last day or two in Kauai when we were all lamenting coming home, he cheerfully exclaimed, "it's good because only five days until Donuts with Dads".
Needless to say, he was SO, SO excited for this special day with Dad.

The class first spent some time sharing some information about their Dad.
Most of the Dads ranged from 4 to 150 years old.   And the weight estimate was about the same.
Matthew was sure of his Dad's age, since he promised his teacher his dad had just had a birthday and he "knew he was 14 years old"!
Then the students got to spend some time shaving their dads.  It was the cutest thing!!
I'm not sure who loved it more!!
Then they had Krispy Kreme donuts and orange juice.
It was a fun day to remember!!
Here's a sampling of what Matthew had made for Tyler.

  1. Oh, I thought that was white frosting for the donuts! Silly me! What a fun tradition to have a "donuts with dad" date. OH, the innocence of children........only 14? I would have guessed at least 15!!!! Love to all!
