Rain Gutter Regatta

I love the Cub Scouts Rain Gutter Regatta.
There's no pressure.

The Dad's aren't weighing the boats five million times to make sure they have the closest to the limit without going over.  There are no wheels to sand down, no axels to apply graphite too another five million times.

It's just a boat, two rudders, and a sail.

Yes there was some cutting of the sail's corners by one Dad, bending the sail backwards by another, one boy showed up with a sleeker design, but by and large it was a bunch of boys, totally excited about the boat they had painted and the sail that added their own style and personality, making it "their own". 

 It was simply wood boats being blown down a rain-gutter with straws. 

Doesn't get much more simple than that.

Andrew did a great job painting his boat and his Primary teacher printed off the cool vinyl for his sail.

We love how it turned out!!

The boys cheered "BYU!" whenever Andrew got up to race.

He also worked a lot on scouts this summer and earned three Webelos pins, fitness, aquanaut, and ready-man.  Way to go Andrew!
