A little get-a-way, just the seven of us, some beach time, low-key
family time what we needed this weekend!
We headed to to San Jose Friday night and as usual the hotel was a hit with the kids.
In fact, our room had two floors and they were in heaven!
Saturday morning we spent in Capitola on the beach.
We walked along the Pier and enjoyed breathing in the salty, cool morning air.
In fact, it was at the end of the pier where a man inside of a fishing shack saw my five kids go pass, singing or dancing together and came out to see me just in time to ask me "is this a parade?"
First time, for everything. Most of the time people just ask if they are ALL mine?
We love the beach!
We waited in a long line for the famous Pizza My Heart
that everyone says you have to have while in Capitola
It was worth the wait, we enjoyed our beach picnic!
The sun finally came out, which made it really hard for me to leave.
But finally I was pulled away because our parking was expiring (again)
and we headed to Natural Bridges State Beach.
Loved it, such a beautiful spot!
Next stop dinner at a friend's highly recommended restaurant, Carpos and then to the Santa Cruz boardwalk.
The kids loved the crowds, the view, and the rides!

And the treats. Yes, we totally got DEEP FRIED fried oreos. They were a hit!
I've never been on the Sky Glider, but always wanted to.
LOVED the beautiful views and swinging my toes with my twins!
Tyler, Aubrey, and Andrew went on a big roller coaster and I took these three on the ferris wheel,
what a fun view we had!
It was a great finish to a fabulous day!
There were lots of thank yous and "this was the best day ever" the whole ride back to the hotel.
On Sunday we met my sweet friend, Andrea (who I met in 98 I think and although she has
lived over seas and in the mid-west, I am so happy to now have her living closer) in
San Jose and went to church with her and her family.
Afterwards, we took a picnic lunch high into the San Jose mountains and enjoyed a hike overlooking a gorgeous view. It was great to catch up with her!
Eleven kids between the two of us (each of us with twin girls)!
A perfect family 48 hour get-a-way!!
