Since our move I'm a few posts behind (don't worry...they are in the works),
but today was a great afternoon.
We've got minimum days at school all week for conferences and so I told Andrew he could have a few boys over to play flag football. At the end of our culdesac is a perfect play area and so they played and played and played. In between they had pizza, root beer and frozen Thin Mints.
As I sat there I couldn't help but notice their laughter and teasing. They were happy. They laughed at their own errors. They were totally "straight up" with each other. If it was a bad pass, a botched kick, or a missed catch, they called each other on it. Not in a rude way, but in a total "guy" kind of way.
There was no drama. Just boys being boys.
And actually their frankness was completely refreshing.
They were silly, throwing a little wrestling in with the football!
The girls sang as only they do!
Matthew enjoyed the swings, the slide, and any dirt he could dig in.
And me?
Well I just enjoyed the beautiful weather, my gorgeous neighborhood, the cool grass under my toes,
and the sounds and smiles of these sweet kidos around me.
It doesn't get any better.
Brings back old memories of how cute boys are together. How easy they laugh and entertain them selves. I am sure that in later years they will look back at these pictures and say,"Remember when we were little and had so much fun together?" Sweet times!! Love, mom
ReplyDeleteSo glad Andrew finally had a fun date with his friends. Hope some of them were the new boys he has met just down the street. It's so nice when boys will go outside and "get down and dirty"! Looks like everyone was having a grand ole time. Love to all!
