Soccer Saturdays

Our Saturdays with soccer games are finally done.  Soccer in our community is huge, with over 3,000 kids playing each week.  And with the practices starting in August and games in September, it seems like a long season with ten weeks of games.  However, when November rolls around I'm always amazed at how fast it went and how much fun we've had.  Andrew, Katelyn, and Megan played and each scored at least one goal, (whew the season was a success, right?!)

Andrew got on a great team this year with some school and church friends.
His coach was awesome and so positive and encouraging with all the boys.
Their games were quite competitive and really fun to watch.
Andrew had some great plays and fancy footwork,
some great dives (love the flying feet)!
some awesome kicks (love the tongue),
some pretty sweet moves,
and some great times with friends.
Katelyn and Megan also got on a fun team with a of their favorite friends from pre-school who they don't get to see often.  Their darling coach was very patient and loving with them and they had a great year.  One cute thing to note is that at the team party this week, both the head and assistant coach pointed out how these two girls were always together, but if there was every a "face-off" they quickly teamed up and faced each other!  They had a great time together!
Katelyn had some great breaks as a forward, taking on girls a grade older and almost a head above her.
And of course after she scored, she was ALL smiles!!
Megan had a few great games.
She had a few games with tears.
And a really fun time smiling for the camera and socializing!!
So for now our Saturdays change to sing and dance company, basketball, and theater...
until next year, so long soccer.

  1. Hip, hip, horray for soccer and the end of the season! Way to go Andrew, Katelyn and Megan! It sounds like you had a great year. Now on to new activities. Hope you have as much fun in what ever you are going to be doing. And I hope we will be able to see all of you perform. Love to all!
