Pleasantly surprised is actually an understatement about how I feel about
how incredibly EASY it was to potty train Matthew.
After ten years and nine months (minus only a few months) of having at least one child in diapers I feel relieved, ecstatic, thrilled, and even a little richer!

I haven't been anxious all summer as I know better than to try to potty train while on vacation and crazy schedules in the mix! I thought I'd do it in September when the other kids were in school. But the Monday before school started Matthew got up wanted to go on the toilet and we were off and running. He hasn't had a diaper on since and has done AMAZING!! He runs to the toilet and then waits for his all his cheering (advantage of being the youngest) section to begin their yells and clapping.
He is so proud of himself and how "big" he now is. He is really excited because he can go in Grandpa Kerry's pool (think over 55 pool with LOTS of rules) and plans to go to school really soon, like tomorrow!
He was super excited to get a package in the mail addressed just to him
from Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Kerry with Thomas the Train underpants.
Matthew, I am so proud of you. I can't wait until you come visit us again so you can swim in our pool. What a big boy you are to decide you don't want to wear diapers any more. WAY TO GO! If I was at your house I would be right there with the rest of the cheer leaders! Hip, hip horray for Matthew. Love you so much!
