Growing up in the same town as my grandparents I was fortunate to have my cousins coming to visit regularly. On my Dad's side there are 21 of us. We are now spread all across the country and have very different lives. We have a professional dancer, a pilot, a stay at home mom, a teacher, a doctor, an attorney, a retail store owner, a consultant, a rancher, a medical supply salesman, a student, a Broadway actress, and make-up artist...just to name a few.
Not only do we have different interests and careers, but of course we also have very different views on religion, politics, and many other subjects. However, what's interesting is the bond that still holds us together as family. As cousins there is this unique quality in our relationships (and I definitely see it in my children and their cousins) that when we are together we pick up right where we left off. We really do enjoy any chance we've got to get together. Many of us were in attendance for both of my grandparent's funerals and make considerable effort to attend any weddings. The celebrations have ranged from ranch barbecues, barn dances to simple and sacred LDS temple weddings, to ultra fancy, black tie events at my uncle's fabulous hotel in Miami, the Biltmore. EVERY occasion we've had a great time. As a tribute to my fantastic cousins, here are a few of the photos of us attending family events over the last 15 years. Starting with my first cousin to get married, Ryan in December of 1995. Wow, we all look SO young!
