Random Favorites

It's been a while since I've done a post with my newest, favorite things.  Sorry the pics from the internet are small and a little low quality.  Try to "focus" on the cool things I'm sharing with you!

I love Richard and Linda Eyre. They have written a few of my favorite parenting books, including Three Steps to a Strong Family, and A Joyful Mother of Children.  They are a wealth of knowledge and experience with many parenting issues including what is really facing parents TODAY...kids these days feeling entitled.  They have written a new book, due out early September, called the Entitlement Trap.  Richard thinks, "Kids' sense of entitlement is the biggest problem today's parents face.  Children seem to think they should have whatever they want, and whatever their friends have right now, and without working for it.  The reason entitlement is a trap is that it destroys motivation, incentive, creativity and work ethic.  It takes away from our children everything we want to give them.  We have come to believe that the antidote to entitlement (and the prerequisite to responsibility) is to help children feel "earned ownership" of their spending money, their "stuff", their education and grades, their values and goals, and their decisions and choices.  This is a book on how to give them all of that!"

YOU CAN PRE-ORDER THE ENTITLEMENT TRAP NOW AND GET A 33% DISCOUNT AND A FREE DOWNLOAD FOR YOUR CHILD.  I ordered mine on amazon. See details at www.valuesparenting.com

Recently I found the yummiest bread made by Oroweat, introducing Dill Rye.  Although pricey, it's a wonderful change to a stay-at-home Mom's usual peanut butter lunch menu.
Plus, who knew that rye provides more lysine – an essential amino acid – than any other grain, as well as antioxidants, calcium, magnesium and potassium?  It also helps to stabilize blood sugar levels.   Plus it tastes yummy!

I love my new Amy Butler bag that my friend, Jeri made me.
It is so fun for spring!  I got my fabric here.  Even with the shipping charges, it was less than my local fabric store.
While at Women's Conference I found these amazing journals.  I got both the personal and the scripture journal and have been l o v i n g them!  They even posted MY testimonial!!
OK one more food item... I am loving these Peanut Butter Fudge Creme Oreo cookies.  If you haven't tried them, you may not want to as they are super delicious and right up there with their mint version.

  1. This is one of my favorite types of blog posts. I love to discover new favorites. I'm going to order the Eyre's book asap. I can tell I'm going to have to stay away from the Fudge Creme Oreos though...

  2. If you lived closer, I'd invite you to my friend and mine's semi-annual 'Favorites Party.' Every one brings three of the same of their favorite items and we do a 'show and tell' with them and then draw three people's names to give them too. Great fun--you give away three things and go away with three different favorites of someone else!
That was kind of a big blowout of information now wasn't it?

Which reminds me-can you tell me that website you got your planner from we discussed at the Retreat?

  3. Thanks for sharing your "favorites". I love your new bag...oh, so cute! The Rye bread look devine, I will have to see if I can find some here. And I must admit those peanut butter oreo's are to die for. I haven't been able to find them here in Utah, though. It's probably a good thing or I would think I would have to eat them. Not a good idea! Love to all!
