My forest friend

This week Katelyn was her class (student of the week) "Forest Friend".  She worked so hard on her poster and was so proud of it when it was done.  It includes that her favorite animal is the zebra, her favorite color is hot pink, and her favorite food is hot fudge.  She also drew a picture of herself being a teacher when she grows up.  She has a picture of Knott's Berry Farm as her favorite place, swimming as her favorite thing to do, and her wish is to have a puppy (join the club in this family, right?).  It turned out darling!!

Katelyn is a good student, spending time making sure all of her work looks nice.  I love this picture because the cute boy next to her was probably done (at least emotionally) coloring his 100 things a while ago, while Katelyn meticulously continues on.  She always wants to do her homework right after school and usually wants more!

We LOVE Katelyn's darling Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Barrett. She is so kind and sweet.  She truly does a great job connecting with each one of the students and makes them feel so important.  I love it when you feel like you've found a perfect match for your child, one who truly loves them while they are away from home.  

 Notice how cute Katelyn's teacher's sweatshirt is - 100 buttons to celebrate the 100th day of school.  All the kindergartners signed their names on the back.

Since we were there for the 100th day (it's a big deal when you're five and another reason to count, count, count!!), our Forest Friend cooking project was making the number 100 out of mini M and M's on a cupcake.  As you can imagine, it was a hit, quickly made and QUICKLY eaten!
