We just got home from a great weekend at Lake Tahoe.
September seems to be a perfect time of the year to visit. The weather during the day was low 70's and although it cooled down at night,
it was great to roast smores in a sweatshirt and snuggle in a warm blanket to watch a movie afterwards.
We spent a lot of time swimming, climbing, and jumping rocks at Sand Harbor.

The kids could have stayed there for days. I think "beach time" is therapeutic for everyone!
I know I'm biased, but isn't he a cutie?!?!
Here he is trying to imitate the birds, FREE to fly!
This year we also discovered a great stop at Northstar Resort where we rode the gondola up to a fantastic hike.
Adults were $5.00 and kids were free to ride, this was the best $10.00 we've spent in a long time!
Out of the several trails and hikes we could have done we chose Sawmill Lake to be our destination.
It was a perfect "family hike", taking us almost 2 hours, only a few good size hills, and lots of beautiful scenery.
The kids would say that a good hike also has to have good snacks and good walking sticks along the way. Matthew had a hurt foot and so 99% of the time rode on Tyler's back or shoulders, lucky him!

Good times.
Ready for our RIDE back down the mountain. We made it!
We also had a great time biking. We rode down to the Pier and that too is a big hit with the kids! Lake Tahoe is really THIS blue, no algae growing makes it spectacular!
It was the perfect mix of outdoor fun, indoor relaxing,
and sometimes (the neighbor's may have thought) a little TOO much indoor fun.
Tahoe, we LOVE you and we'll definitely be back!!
Looks like you had a great trip. What a beautiful place!! I can't believe how big your kids are getting!!! And, I think Matthew is adorable, you're not just biased! :)
