Summer was wonderful.
It always goes too fast.
It always goes too fast.
This summer was a perfect mix of swim team, out of town vacations, fun with
friends and family, and lot of good ole' down-time with my kids at home.
We had a great time with our ABC Summer List, here are a few of the highlights:
The kids especially loved it when I said "YES" to getting ice cream from the ice cream truck.
Note here that Clint, affectionately called the "ice cream man" even throws down a rug on a rope. This man obviously knows
1. how long it takes for kids to decide with ALL those yummy choices
2. how hot it is standing on the black street.

LOTS of slip and slide time, where the kids got extra creative and slid down the slide with water to land and extend their ride on the slip and slide!
The girls enjoyed several tea parties, complete with Aubrey teaching them proper "pinky up" etiquette.
We went on a few hikes and even better took a friend's dog (my kind of pet...borrowed). The kids loved that.
Moved Matthew out of his crib (which at first looked like this) into a "big-boy" bunk bed with Andrew, but after a few days he got the hang of it and now loves it, plus I'm loving the space in their room.
We washed the cars, seriously they would do this every week if I let them

Tyler and I took Aubrey on a special date to see Jon Schmidt. WOW! Not only he is super talented, but a fun, entertaining guy as well. He even played this, it was fantastic. We had him sign our CD afterward.
We ended our summer with our traditional reward for all that hard work doing summer jobs, a trip to the local water park.
What a summer to remember!!

3. They can come wash my cars every week.
4. So fun...such a great mom with so many fun ideas to enjoy your kids with
I love love love Jon Schmidt! He is one of my favorites, and definitely my favorite performing pianist. Glad you had such a great summer!
ReplyDeleteI never had that kind of fun when I was a kid. The only truck we ran after was the ice nan that delivered ice to the neighbor for their ice box as they didn't have a refrigerator. What a special memory of a great summer. Love Gma
ReplyDeleteAnd yet another summer has come to an end! I simply don't know how you do it all. You always make the entire summer so fun, it's amazing the kids ever want it to end and for another school year to begin. What a fun way to keep learning by using the alphabet and keeping summer journals. You are the best! love to all!
