This month the cub scout pack meeting was the fun, super low-key Rain Gutter Regatta.
The boats come already shaped like boats and there's no need for some of the details associated with the pine wood derby (shaping them, additional weights, graphite on axles, etc). Here is how Andrew designed his boat, complete with the cub scout colors.
Before we got started Andrew was awarded his Bear award. As is tradition, the Mom gets a pin.
Andrew has been working hard on completing it this summer (it was a goal to have all the requirements done this summer so during school and sports he can work on the "extras") and we've been so proud of him.
Then the races began. Siblings were invited to join in the fun too, so the girls from our
family were well represented with Aubrey blowing their boat down the rain gutters.

Andrew blew as hard as he could and finished in third place!
We finished the night with delicious, homemade ice cream, a must on a summer evening in the park.
