Saturdays with Soccer begin

Soccer season has started with our first games yesterday.
Both of the girls, at some point during their game, had tears.  I guess my casual suggestion for "anyone who scored could get a slurpie" was too much pressure.  They were frustrated that they didn't get a goal and weren't going to get a treat...hmmm, we're reworking that one.
For the most part though, they had a fun time with the highlight of the day being wearing the new fun pink tie-dyed socks, shoelaces, and cute pony holders made by their cute coach.
Andrew's game was at a much more competitive level.  It was a really fun game to watch, except when he plays goalie - whew that makes me sweat!  I get nervous so I focus on taking photographs.  He is one dedicated goalie, DIVING at all possibilities.
Andrew even had his own cheering section, complete with signs they came up with on their own.
I love seeing my kids support each other.  I love this time of year and soccer is one of the reasons why.

  1. Aubrey looks so grown up in that last picture. Before we know it our girls are going to be in Young women's. I wish we could just freeze time for a bit!

  2. Though we aren't a sports family ourselves, I too LOVE seeing my children support each other in their various activities. It always seems to be a 'payday' for putting up with all the days they aren't so supportive of one another...
