Here we have Idaho...

I am confident that while growing up in Southern Idaho I didn't appreciate the simpleness of life and the unique beauty that lies in fields as far as you can see.  I remember my Mom suggesting we look around and see it for how beautiful it was and me looking to see rows of beets, potatoes, beans, and corn, and acres and acres of desert sagebrush as pretty plain.  Although I prefer the green from hills and mountains, my love for the area where I grew up has grown.
Driving one night I stopped to take this shot.  It was silent other than the occasional whip of her rope and little grunts to keep him trotting.  The lighting on the dust from the horse was perfect!
This is the canal out by the ranch, about ten miles out of town.
We used to take that large Charolais cow down each August and put it on a trailer to ride through the local parade.  Fun memories that mostly only small towns still carry on.

  1. Thank goodness we all eventually grow up! Isn't it amazing the beauty we now see that wasn't there when we were younger. You absolutely amaze me at the pictures you capture. Thanks for sharing part of country life with us. Love to all!
